OUR TEAM

I’m involved in the gun violence prevention movement because we are getting to the point where every person has been or knows someone who has been affected by gun violence and that is not an America I want to live in.

I got involved in gun violence prevention because I am sick and tired of turning on the TV and seeing breaking news of another shooting. No one should die as a result of misuse of a firearm.

I am involved in the anti gun-violence movement because gun violence is so prevalent in the United States, and it is so preventable. I want everyone to feel safe in everyday life without fear of a stray bullet coming through the wall of their home, getting shot in a mass shooting, or fearing for your life when you encounter a police officer.

I got involved in the gun violence prevention movement because I am sick and tired of seeing innocent black and brown bodies being murdered, and I am tired of people neglecting the amount of every day violence that occurred.

I am a senior at Chanhassen High School. Outside of my work as a gun violence prevention advocate and communications board member with Minnesota March For Our Lives, I’m an avid cycler, runner, skier, angler and backpacker. Enjoying the great Minnesotan outdoors with my friends never ceases to put a smile on my face!

The reason I’ve chosen to be involved with this important movement is because I don’t want to sit in class thinking about an escape route, when I should be focused on learning. With the help of my peers, I know we will be able to compromise on solutions that will keep us all safe.
